Talk about hectic, its been a crazy house here getting everything sorted... we had almost nothing to do for a month while all the paper work was being processed and now that we have less than a week left its turned into a mad house ! Thank goodness we've employed movers to do all the packing and shifting.
But there just seems to much to do .....
I just want to say thank you to all of you who have emailed or called in to catch up before we move, I really appreciate it, to all of you who have made contact THANK YOU ! and Hopefully I have relied to you all who have emailed.
Well its all go here and we can finally annouce to the rest of the world that we are moving in 2 weeks time, We're off Rotorua, a big change for us as we have brought a Kennel and Cattery up there.... but will always be Crusaders supporters at heart !
Meanwhile just to make thing a little more hectic Renea has come into the early stage of her pre estrus cycle and will be due for mating about the time we move, but we'll workit out as we go.
A stud dog has been booked and is one of the top cockers around. He is a proven stud dog, with a great temprement and we're sure excited about this mating.
Renea is a princess such a lady with an excellent temprament, and has been fully DNA tested for the 2 heredity cocker diseases and is CLEAR of both PRA & FN. So puppies from Renea will not be affected by either condition.
This mating will produce Blue Roans, and possibly Orange Roans and Blue Roan & Tans. As soon as we a sucessful mating I'll be contacting those on my list to update you and opening the litter section for you to follow along as things develop over the following 63 days.
I can't beleive its almost March ! Life as been hectic to say the least. Not really any news on the cocker front though, still waiting for my girl to come on heat so we can mate her, gee I wish mother nature would "get with the programme".
We've only been to one show this year, and don't plan on any until the 2012/13 season for various reasons. Bit a pain as the 2 young ones are looking fabulous... never mind
Had a fabulous photo of Nina (a very striking Bue Roan and Tan girl) sent to me the other day, I so love getting updates and photo's of Janan cockers in their homes.
Show Update : we headed off to Christchurch where both babies, Solly and Riley did us proud. Solly winning his classes both days and gettng Baby Puppy of Breed and RDCC even though he was the youngest dog competiting, he showed like a trouper. And Riley won her class the first day and was place 2nd the following day in a class of 4 where she was also the youngest. So both look set to mark there mark in the show ring. But as they are only babies they will only be shown lighlty until there are at least year old.
Zoe had a great weekend winning the NZYKC heat and coming 2nd in the JDH heat.
On the home front, I spent the week before christmas in hospital, ugggg ! so frustrating when I had so much planned. With surgery booked in 2 weeks, it looks like a quiet January - February will be inforced on me. Never mind, there is lots to do around home as always !
3 new Janan teams to hit the ring, and all performing very well and winning at breed level. We hada great weekend away, with lots of "issues to deal with" including the tent pole breaking and having a hole ripped in the roof of the tent, the rain and wind and a few other things, both Zoe and I were still laughing when we finally made it home at 11pm Sunday night. We have some great friends up there and lok fowrd to coming North again next year. Our only dissapoinment was, that Sheryl wasn't with us.
Riley Janan Soul Sister, had a great debut winning BCC both days but sadly ineligible due to her age. And then coming up against her brother Solly Janan Heart N Soul who also won his class both days but was beaten by Riley for who took out Baby Puppy of Breed both days.
Zoe and Phoenix also debuted as a new combination and did a fantastic job togther taking RDCC & RBOB day 1 and DCC and Best of Breed day 2. They were also placed 2nd in JDH.
On Sunday afternoon we had a Janan Cocker reunion of all the puppies in the Wellington Area, and it was such fun, puppies going in all directions, inclduing the river where they all swam and got us wet. I feel so lucky that te Janan puppies all have such wnderful loving homes with such nice people, and I look foward to the next "Janan Cocker Reunion" including our 2 honary members the black boys - Plato and Phoenix ! Can't wait to see the photos.
Its been busy teaching the 2 youngersters Solly and Riley to stack, and getting Phoenix back into show conditition for the End of November. Solly has taken to stacking kike a pro, while Riley has a long way to go, but both puppies are maturing nicely. I'm very pleased with this pair and cant wait to get them out in the show ring and give them a taste of the show world and see just how they cope with it all.
Loosing Henry has meant that we will be taking a break from the show ring to rebuild our team, I'm hoping to be back in the show ring by Christmas. Fortunately I have a couple of young hopefuls coming on who might make the grade, but only time will tell. Until then we'll continue to have some fun at local shows with our youngsters.
I am now an Accredited Tail Docker and on the NZKC Panel, YAH another goal achieved for this year. And my huge thanks to my Supervisor & Mentor Valda Bencich, who helped me acheive this.
Zoe is doing great, she had her operation today and will hopefully be home from hospital on Thrusday, then I'll have a "kennel maid" for 2 whole weeks...... mmmm i have a list of job longer than my arm and guess who will be helping to get them done
